Kyle, in Matthew 24 , who is the Lord speaking to.? Well in verse 2 it reads:" Jesus said unto them ...verily I say unto YOU." Also this " unto them" is used in verse 4, as well as YOU. Also YOU is used in verses 6, 9, 15,23,25,26,33,35. We can easily miss the audience relevance here. The Lord Jesus is speaking to His disciples. He is speaking to them of their future. Can this apply as a duel fulfillment in my future Possibly. But the words of Jesus was spoken first to His immediate followers in the 1st century.

Hello Robert! Yes indeed, Jesus is speaking to His disciples (to Peter, James, John, and Andrew, as Mark 13 makes clear).

But it's also clear that His words are not just for them. He says "they will hand you over to death," yet this isn't the end of Jesus' warnings.

Jesus continues to speak of future events that will happen long after these four disciples are dead.

That means this message wasn't for those four, only. It's for us, too.

That's why they wrote it down in Scripture. It has much to teach us.

Many of the things Jesus wrote haven't been fulfilled yet. The Gospel hasn't gone into all the world.

Also, there hasn't been the tribulation unlike anything the world has experienced, as Jesus warned.

These events are still to come.
